Financial Assistance Programs
If a family is approved for funding, please forward the confirmation email to the Western Valley Minor Hockey Treasurer treasurer@westernvalleyminorhockey.ca to ensure the funding is noted on the player’s account in case the funding arrives after a payment deadline.
- KidSport
- KidSport™ is a national children's program that helps kids overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport.
- KidSport™ Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment.
- Applications are accepted six times per calendar year; Deadlines are January 1st, March 1st, May 1st, July 1st, September 1st and November 1st.

- Canadian Tire Jumpstart
- Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a national charitable program that helps financially disadvantaged kids participate in organized sport and recreation. It can help cover registration, equipment and/or transportation costs.

- The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund provides subsidies to assist with hockey registration fees for Canadian youth.
